Dear SCA Parents,
Our faithful God has provided teachers for the following Junior High Classes. As always, our goal in providing these classes is to assist you in teaching your students. Junior High is an opportune time to allow your children to explore their interests. Take time to experience elective courses. Please plan ahead but also enjoy the freedom that you have before they enter High School. If you do not see a class that you need, you might consider gathering a group of people to team teach a class. This is a great way for your children, and you, to develop friendships that could last a lifetime.
If you have any questions regarding these classes feel free to contact the teachers directly or you can email Tiffany at mhaugie5@cox.net. Unless otherwise noted, classes will be held at our facility. Also please be advised classes will be cancelled if enrollment is extremely low and please choose carefully to avoid the extra work incurred when people change their minds. Likewise class times are subject to change.

Classroom Behavior Expectations
In order to facilitate a beneficial learning environment,
please review with your students the SCA code of conduct.
We strive to provide a nurturing environment for all of
our students. Unfortunately, sometimes the behavior of some
students adversely affects the ability of other students
to learn. Please be aware that students will be expected
to be able to sit through a lecture/learning session of
at least 90 minutes. They will be expected to take notes,
treat their teachers and fellow students with respect, and
to comply with their teacher’s requests. If you believe
your student may have difficulty complying with these guidelines,
please contact myself or the class teacher. This year, if
a student is unable to comply with these expectations, they
will be asked to drop the class.
Enrollment Policy
Once you have enrolled your child in class, and the class
has started, you are responsible for the entire cost of
the class. Please choose carefully as your account will
not be adjusted for dropped classes.
Please be aware that only students registered at SCA as
Junior Highers or above can be enrolled in Junior High classes.
There are no exceptions to this policy.
Registration
Students who enrolled in June do NOT need to reregister.
For new student enrollment, complete the Junior High Class
Registration form attached at the end of this newsletter
and mail it to Tiffany Haugland. I will contact you via email to
let you know the status of your enrollment. Classes are
filled on a first come, first choice basis.
Registrations will be accepted postmarked through the start
of classes, September 12, 2008. Please choose carefully so that class changes are kept to a minimum.
Add/Drops
Please notify me of any Adds/Drops to Junior High classes.
I will notify Jill Capote of any changes that need to be made to your bookkeeping account. Drops are accepted
before the second class meeting. Once your child has attended the second week of class, you
are responsible for the entire cost of the class. Please choose carefully as your account will not
be adjusted for dropped classes after this period.
Following is the updated list of Junior High Classes that
will be offered. You will want to review the list as we
have made many changes. Some classes may be cancelled due
to low enrollment (Study Skills and Art at 8:00am).
We look forward to a good year of learning together.
